About ALINE Co-op
Welcome to ALINE Co-op, where the wild becomes the classroom and every day is an adventure!

At ALINE, we believe learning isn’t confined to four walls—it’s alive, dynamic, and rooted in the natural world. Our forest school is a place where children climb trees, navigate trails, and discover the magic of the outdoors in all seasons. Through hands-on exploration and immersive experiences, we ignite curiosity, resilience, and a deep connection to the environment.

Guided by the timeless principles of Charlotte Mason, we weave wonder into every lesson, encouraging children to observe, question, and engage with the world around them. Whether they’re sketching a bird in flight, building a fort from fallen branches, or simply listening to the rustle of leaves in the wind, our learners are empowered to grow—not just academically, but emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

At ALINE, we’re not just teaching children about nature—we’re helping them find their place within it. Together, we’re cultivating the next generation of explorers, thinkers, and caretakers who will carry a lifelong love for learning and a profound respect for the Earth.

Our Educational Approach
At ALINE, we take a holistic and immersive approach to learning, seamlessly blending nature exploration with core educational concepts. Through the practice of nature journaling, students delve into the wonders of the natural world while integrating principles of natural science, mathematics, physical movement, physics, and more. Each student receives their own nature journal and is guided through foundational journaling techniques using The Laws Guide to Nature Journaling by John Muir Laws, fostering observation, curiosity, and critical thinking.

Our curriculum is further enriched by the timeless wisdom of The Handbook of Nature Study by Anna Botsford Comstock, alongside resources from Exploring Nature with Children and Treehouse Schoolhouse. These materials provide a structured yet flexible framework that aligns with seasonal changes and weekly learning objectives.

To deepen the experience, we incorporate rich literature into our program, with weekly storytime sessions that bring stories to life and inspire a love for reading. By combining hands-on exploration, interdisciplinary learning, and literary enrichment, we create a dynamic educational journey that nurtures both the mind and the spirit.

Our Story
ALINE Co-op was launched in Fall of 2024 with a small group of like-minded families who wanted to teach their children in nature in a forest school setting. Our journey has been about creating a supportive community that values nature-based education and hands-on learning experiences. We are committed to providing a nurturing environment where children can thrive and develop a profound connection with the natural world.
